Who runs this site

These editors are a personal, non-commercial fan project run by Squidgy (Callum). Squidgy is the data controller for account information used by the editors.

You can contact the operator through Support inside an editor. If you cannot sign in, use the public Squidgy contact route through which you found the editor.

What the editors store

• Your chosen username, random account identifier and protected login credential.
• Your saved projects and levels.
• Levels you choose to share, and comments or ratings you post on shared levels.
• Messages you send through Support, linked to your account so replies reach you.
• Limited security and administration records needed to prevent abuse, investigate faults and moderate content.

No email address, postal address, payment information or advertising profile is requested. Please use a nickname and avoid putting real-world personal information in usernames, level titles, comments or support messages.

Why it is used

The information is used only to provide your account and projects, publish content you deliberately share, answer support requests, keep the service secure, and moderate obscenity or other content that could breach the hosting terms.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: operating a small user-requested editing service, protecting it from misuse, helping users, and maintaining a suitable public level library. Those uses are limited to what is necessary for the service and are not used for marketing.

The single cookie

After you create an account or sign in, the editor uses one first-party, HttpOnly authentication cookie. Its only job is to keep your browser securely connected to your account; JavaScript cannot read it and it is never used to follow you between sites. Each editor site uses its own cookie.

By default it lasts only for the browser session. If you actively choose Stay signed in for 30 days, the same cookie may remain for up to 30 days. Signing out removes it. Blocking it means the account editor cannot stay signed in.

There are no third-party, advertising, analytics or social-media cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

Editor preferences on your device

The editor also uses browser local storage for things you ask it to remember on that device, such as panel layout, brushes, palette choices, version history and unfinished Support drafts. This information stays in that browser unless you deliberately submit or save the relevant content. It is not used to identify or track you.

These local preferences remain until you clear the site’s browser data or object using the control below. The editor will still work after opting out, but it will not remember those local choices between visits.

Who can see information

Shared levels and public comments are visible to other users. Private projects and Support messages are not public, but the operator can access them when reasonably necessary for support, security, obscenity moderation or enforcement of the hosting terms. The web-hosting provider processes the information only as needed to host and secure the service.

Information is not sold, rented or shared for advertising or analytics. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.

How long it is kept

• Account and private project data remain while the account is active.
• Authentication sessions expire after no more than 30 days.
• Support messages remain while the account is active so the conversation and moderation record can be understood.
• Security and moderation records are kept only while reasonably needed for those purposes, then deleted or anonymised.

Deleting an account

A deletion request makes the account dormant for 30 days. During that window, signing in normally with the key file cancels deletion and reactivates the account.

At the end of the window, the login credential, username, private projects and linked Support messages are deleted. Shared levels and public comments stay available because other users may have added those levels to their projects, but they are disconnected from the account and credited to one stable, randomly generated friendly name such as “Gentle Otter”. Imported copies in other users’ projects are unchanged.

Your choices and rights

You can download your project data from the editor. You can also ask for access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Data portability may apply to information you provided.

Your right to object: you can object at any time to use of your personal information based on legitimate interests. Use Support and explain what you want the operator to stop doing.

Rights are not always absolute, but every request will be considered and answered without undue delay. If you are unhappy after raising a concern, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
